‘Larry King Now’ to Debut this Summer on the Web

or anyone missing “Larry King Live,” there is some good news: Larry King‘s new talk show on Internet TV network Ora.TV will launch this Summer, earlier than expected. The show, now called “Larry King Now,” had originally planned to launch in the Fall.

Unlike on CNN, where his show went on-air at 9pmET every night, the new show will air weekly, and will be posted in the early evening, around 5 or 6 PM. The AP has more:

But King said he wanted to “get into the political mix.” The Democratic and Republican national conventions to name presidential nominees are this summer.

King said he expected the format of his show to be similar to “Larry King Live,” which aired on CNN in prime time for 25 years, and he’s retained much of his old production staff. The new show will generally be 30 minutes in length, instead of an hour, although there will be flexibility to go shorter or longer depending on who’s being interviewed, said Jon Housman, Ora.TV’s CEO.

No word on guests yet, but King tells the AP he is aiming for President Obama or Mitt Romney.

At the annual industry gathering The Cable Show on Monday, King will be inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame.

On last night’s CBS’s Late Show, host David Letterman interviewed Conan O’Brien for the first time since before the Conan-Leno debacle of 2010. Predictably, one topic they discussed was Jay Leno. Both late-show personalities tore into the NBC late night host, calling him a “brat.”

Bill O’Reilly Wants to Do ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly will appear on the “Rachael Ray Show” tomorrow morning.

During the interview, which was taped earlier this month, O’Reilly weighed in on the current state of the Republican party, as well as whether he would ever run for President (no) or participate on “Dancing with the Stars” (maybe).

“Somebody actually asked me that,” he said. “And I said to them, ‘Only if you have a Twist show.’ The Twist, remember the Twist? I can do the Twist.”

Bobby Brown debuted “Don’t Let Me Die” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Wednesday. The musical tribute to the late Whitney Houston, Brown’s ex-wife, contains lyrics such as “I don’t know how to live without you / I need you here.”

Brown also sings, “I guess I messed up pretty bad / I didn’t know who you were / I didn’t know what we had…. Now I’m stuck living in the past, trying to get the pieces back / But I guess now you’re gone.”

4.7 Million Watch Pres. Obama on ‘The View’

President Obama’s visit to ABC talker “The View” drew 4.7 million viewers to the program yesterday. While that is very strong for “The View,” it is far less than Obama drew the last time he was on the show back in 2010, when 6.59 million people tuned in.

Nonetheless, the ratings were the show’s strongest since February, 2011.

Katie Couric To Interview Princes William and Harry

ABC News is going big with coverage of Queen Elizabeth II‘s “Diamond Jubilee” this Spring. There will be two primetime specials in late May and early June, with “Good Morning America” originating from London that week.

For the first primetime special, Katie Couric will have an “exclusive” interview with Prince William and Prince Harry, who will talk about their grandmother The Queen. The 2-hour special will air Tuesday, May 29 at 9pmET/8pmCT.

In addition, ABC has acquired the U.S. rights to “Concert For the Queen: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration,” which will include performances by Paul McCartney, Elton John and Tom Jones, among others. Couric will host that event as well in primetime on Tuesday, June 5.

Kind of a weird coincidence that ABC has an exclusive interview with the Princes, and also paid for the rights to the concert, right?

Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz appear on Tuesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” and the What to Expect When You’re Expecting co-stars were happy to clear up recurring rumors about bad blood between them.

As Gossip Cop already reported, the reports were totally fabricated.

“It’s always like that,” says Diaz. “They want women to be cat fighting. We live in such a misogynistic, chauvinistic… especially the media itself [is] always pinning women against each other.”

DeGeneres asks Lopez whether she’ll be returning for a third year on “American Idol,” and the judge takes on other tabloid rumors about adoption and depression.

Joe Scarborough Says NBC Layoffs Were Good Business

In 2006, NBC Universal decided that it was going to reorganize the company to try and save money, and make it more efficient. As part of “NBC 2.0,” MSNBC left its home in Secaucus, New Jersey and moved into 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where it effectively merged with NBC News. NBC 2.0 resulted in 700 jobs being cut across NBC, including at NBC news and MSNBC.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough hasn’t forgotten. During “Morning Joe” this morning, he cited “NBC 2.0″ as a perfect example of “turning a company around.” The panel was talking about Mitt Romney‘s time in charge of Bain Capital.

“When I first walked into MSNBC eight years ago, I saw thousands of people sitting around doing nothing, and I looked and I said, what are all these people doing?” Scarborough said. “It is more efficient, it functions better, it turns a better profit than ever before. Do people lose jobs? Yeah they do, but the idea is to turn companies around and make money for the unions that invest, and teachers that invest.”

Gordon Ramsay vs. Ann Curry on ‘Today’

Today on The Today Show, Gordon Ramsay and Ann Curry shared an awkward moment over a large slab of beef when Curry inadvertently insulted Ramsay’s public image as an entertainer over his culinary skills.

Ramsay, who does have 12 Michelin stars to his name, was doing a segment on cooking inexpensive cuts of meat and had been salting a ribcap as Curry previewed how he’d be spending his summer: opening a new steakhouse at the Paris Las Vegas casino, and launching a new show called Hotel Hell.

“You’ve got two shows opening up, I think in June,” Curry began. “And then you’ve got another one later in the summer. You’ve got this restaurant. And you’re also trying to… make Americans know that, because we see you on TV, but more for your shows and less for your cooking.”

“You’re absolutely right.” Ramsay pauses, and you can hear the whrrr as he tries to get back control of the interview. “But today we’re going to talk about a rib cap, something that has become a sort of chef’s secret dream.”

Ellen DeGeneres applauded President Obama’s endorsement of marriage equality with a standing ovation during her daytime talk show on Wednesday. “What an amazing day for our country. Mom Defends Controversial Time Magazine Breastfeeding Cover

Jamie Lynne Grumet appeared on the Today show with her 3-year-old son, hitting back at critics who said her breastfeeding cover photo in Time magazine went too far. The cover photo features Grumet casually feeding her pre-school aged son, who is standing on a chair to reach her breast.

“Okay Jamie, you knew this was going to cause a stir. Did you know it was going to cause as much of a stir?” asked co-host Savannah Guthrie.

“No, I don’t think any of us were expecting it,” Grumet revealed.

President Obama Returns to ‘The View’ Next Week

President Obama will be making his second appearance on ABC in as many weeks next Tuesday, though this time it won’t be for ABC News. Obama will be a guest on the ABC daytime program “The View.” The interview will be taped Monday as part of the show’s “Red, White & View” campaign. Also, it’s sweeps.

We are honored to have President Obama visit ‘The View’ for the fourth time, and we promise to let him get a word in edgewise,” said host Barbara Walters in a statement.

ABC says that topics of discussion will include “his administration’s accomplishments, jobs, the economy and family life inside the White House,” but given the news he made yesterday, look for gay marriage to be a hot topic as well.

Incidentally, President Obama’s last visit to “The View” back in July, 2010 was the show’s most-watched episode ever.

CNN reports that Obama originally intended to make his announcement on gay marriage during his appearance on “The View.”

Adele Goes on ‘Today’ Show to Say “I Don’t Want to Be a Celebrity”

Adele is slated to perform in a live NBC broadcast on June 5, and she sat down with “Today” show host Matt Lauer ahead of her performance to discuss fame, her vocal cord surgery and the ridiculous rumors that go hand-in-hand with her celebrity.

The “Someone Like You” singer tells Lauer, “I don’t want to be a celebrity… I don’t want to be in people’s faces, you know, constantly on covers of magazine that I haven’t even known I’m on.”

She says the craziest rumor she’s heard about herself so far is, “I was adopting an Ethiopian child… that’s not true.”

The humble star admits, “I just wanna make music. I don’t want anyone chatting about me, really.”

‘The View’ Gets Six Daytime Emmy Nominations

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the Daytime Emmy Awards on the fourth hour of NBC’s “Today” this morning.

As it happens, “Today” was nominated in the “Outstanding Morning Program” category along with ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

ABC’s “The View” and NBC’s “Today” each had six nominations, while Warner Bros. “Anderson” snagged three nominations, and “Live with Regis & Kelly” secured two nominations. CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta also secured a nomination for “Sanjay Gupta, MD.”

ABC soap “General Hospital” led the way among all programs, garnering 23 nominations.

The awards will be presented June 23rd in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton. A broadcast partner has not yet been announced, but as we reported, HLN is the likely candidate.
